Summertime Blues…What to do??

The site has many links to helping students with such things as Christian development, starting Bible study and prayer groups, witnessing to friends, and much more. One particular link addresses what to do with time off in the summer.

This link lists eight ideas for summer ministry and details for implementing each of the ideas. Their goal is to help in planning for students with different schedules and time to serve Christ. Their first suggest is to evaluate your year. This involves leadership positions analyzing what is being done and how these efforts can be increased or improved. Another idea is to plan a "head start" weekend retreat just before school begins to encourage involvement. A third suggestion is looking for teachable moments such as short devotions, one on one time, and personal challenges for growth. Training in personal evangelism is a great way to spend extra summer time. Creative prayer strategies are a fifth ides including prayer nights, pizza prayers, and other ways to get students involved. Co-ed discipleship opportunities such as Precepts or other Bible studies are encouraged. Inviting college students home or including local students staying on campus to be active in summer activities is important. Finally, plan one large gathering per month aside from the "normal" stuff.
